Father's day is on Sunday, and I get to be with my dad this year! I was thinking about my dad, and what an amazing example he has set for me. How he always points me back to Christ and how he loves my mom SO well!
I couldn't have asked for a better dad! But the best part is seeing my dad with my boys! So Dad, thank you. Thank you for being an amazing example, thank you for seeking Christ in everything. And most of all, thank you for being such an amazing Papa! I love you!

Yes that all happened tonight.... :) BUT when the kind lady let me use her computer and I was able to find the right house, I got to meet this sweet couple! Matt and Karissa! They just got engaged a little over a week ago, and my goodness... they are one good looking couple! Here are just a few sneak peeks from their beautiful session.

They are expecting their first baby in April!! Not only are they such a beautiful couple, but would you look at Arnold... my goodness, what a sweet little guy!! All I had to do was tell Arnold I would take him on a walk, and he looked right at the camera! Oh, and he smiled just because he is awesome!

Casey is One!!
I just love everything girly, and with two little boys (whom I love dearly) the photos I get to take of them are usually them wrestling, or doing something gross... SO to get to take photos of a little girl is a dream come true for me! Casey is the most adorable little thing, with eyes that will blow you away! She is beautiful and a sweetheart! Here is a little sneak peek of her one year old shoot!! Enjoy! Casey escaped!!! Loved the sweet smile I got as she started cruising off of the floor!
I mean, is this not the perfect pose?!? We went up to Casey's adorable room and took some photos of her just reading her favorite book! "You are my Sunshine" I told you those eyes are unbelievable!!!
]]>Micah stopped napping a LONG time ago, and when Landon stopped a year ago I was SO sad. I still make them have a "rest time" but I have to admit, I have a hard time keeping them apart! So most days I just let them play together in Micah's room. Here is what happened today!

I am so glad that it is FINALLY warm enough for the kids to go outside and play in the snow!
Micah had fun throwing the snow!
]]>My kiddos have been sick this week, and there are only so many Pokemon episodes I can handle... so I watched some videos on using natural light in your home to get great portraits. So I thought I would give it a try. I used our North facing window and set a science board to the right of them to reflect some of the light. I think it worked great! And I love the expressions my boys gave me!!!

The other day I was sitting with my 3 year old watching him play with a magnet. He was so interested in why the large metal button stuck to the magnet, but the button wouldn't stick to the table. I would hand him other metal things, when they would stick he would giggle and say "look mom!" It was so awesome watching him explore. Then I noticed my coffee mug sitting right next to him. My sister in law made me the mug for Christmas. I LOVE it! It has a camera on one side and on the other it says "Find joy in the ordinary". I quickly snapped this photo and I can't get over how much it means to me. It is sweet to me because of the memory behind it, but more than that, it is special because it is what I want for this new year. I want to find joy in the ordinary. I love being able to meet new families and "capture beautiful" moments in their lives. I want to push myself this year to be watching for those "ordinary" moments during a session. I don't want to just simply "pose and shoot" but I want to also snap the photos that reflect the family's personality. I am taking these slower months to practice. Practice really noticing the ordinary. Finding joy in it, and of course... taking photos! :)
If you are interested in scheduling a family "lifestyle" shoot let me know! http://catturabellaphotography.com
