Hello 2015!
The other day I was sitting with my 3 year old watching him play with a magnet. He was so interested in why the large metal button stuck to the magnet, but the button wouldn't stick to the table. I would hand him other metal things, when they would stick he would giggle and say "look mom!" It was so awesome watching him explore. Then I noticed my coffee mug sitting right next to him. My sister in law made me the mug for Christmas. I LOVE it! It has a camera on one side and on the other it says "Find joy in the ordinary". I quickly snapped this photo and I can't get over how much it means to me. It is sweet to me because of the memory behind it, but more than that, it is special because it is what I want for this new year. I want to find joy in the ordinary. I love being able to meet new families and "capture beautiful" moments in their lives. I want to push myself this year to be watching for those "ordinary" moments during a session. I don't want to just simply "pose and shoot" but I want to also snap the photos that reflect the family's personality. I am taking these slower months to practice. Practice really noticing the ordinary. Finding joy in it, and of course... taking photos! :) If you are interested in scheduling a family "lifestyle" shoot let me know! http://catturabellaphotography.com
